Therefore, we at Mixbook conducted a survey of 3,000 singles to find out where in America they would almost like to be proposed to, with some interesting and varied results!
1. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. San Diego, California.
Sunset Cliffs Natural Park in San Diego emerged as the top location for a marriage proposal in America, due to its breathtaking views, seclusion, and intimate atmosphere. However, it wasn't the only California location to make the list. Californian locations appeared 3 times in the top 10, and featured 8 times overall. Including The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, Lake Merritt in Oakland, and the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Jose.
2. Tampa Riverwalk. Tampa, Florida.
In second place came the Tampa Riverwalk. With its shimmering waters of the Hillsborough River, lush greenery, and well-maintained landscaping, it provides a stunning backdrop for a memorable proposal. Florida had an additional 5 locations that made the top 250, including the Cummer Museum and Gardens in Jacksonville.
3. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. Dallas, Texas.
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden emerged as the 3rd most popular location for a marriage proposal. The garden is renowned for its natural beauty, featuring stunning displays of flowers, lush greenery, and meticulously manicured landscapes. This picturesque setting creates a romantic and enchanting atmosphere, providing an idyllic backdrop for a memorable (and Instagrammable) proposal.
4. Denver Botanic Gardens. Denver, Colorado.
The fourth most popular location was the Denver Botanic Gardens. Nestled in the heart of Denver, this urban oasis offers a captivating blend of lush gardens, serene ponds, and breathtaking vistas, making it an idyllic backdrop for a romantic gesture.
5. Cummer Museum and Gardens. Jacksonville, Florida.
In fifth place was the Cumner Museum and Gardens. Situated on the banks of the St. Johns River, this enchanting museum boasts stunning gardens that are a true oasis of tranquility and romance. As you wander hand in hand through the meticulously manicured gardens, you will be surrounded by a diverse collection of plants, charming pathways, and peaceful water features.
6. The Angel Oak Tree. Johns Island, South Carolina.

And rounding up the top ten is the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. Perched high on a hill in Griffith Park, the observatory provides panoramic views of the sprawling cityscape, the glittering lights of Los Angeles, and the vast expanse of the night sky. As you and your partner explore the grounds and ascend to the observation decks, you will be captivated by the sense of wonder and the endless possibilities that the universe holds.
