Introducing Maps for photo books

The Magic of Maps

You just can’t beat the classics. There is something about travel that just immediately brings a map to your mind. Flipping through an atlas on a family road trip, following your GPS app of choice through a new city, or finding a brightly colored pamphlet to guide you through the attractions at an amusement park. But maps aren’t just a tool for finding our way through the world, they are an amazing way to tell the story of the journeys we have taken.

Our new Maps feature allows you to create a custom map within the pages of your photobook. Mixbook themes, photos, and sensational stickers are a great way to capture those special little details you saw when you were making your memories. But a map is a great way to share the bigger picture, to summarize your story in a single snapshot.

Making Your Map

The maps feature is now live in the studio. You’ll find it nestled alongside our other classic tools like themes, text and stickers. To add one to your book, simply drag and drop a map onto your page, then scale it to a size of your liking. Once it’s added to your page, you can add up to ten points of interest to display on the map!

Use those points of interest to make a map into a snapshot of your story. Use all ten points to highlight all the amazing spots you found in a single city. Or make a larger scale map that covers each of your major stops during a week on the road. Or zoom out even further and highlight the stops your cruise ship made on a voyage at sea.

The map itself, however, can say just as much as the marks you place on it. Our maps, just like your adventures come, in all shapes and sizes. There are seven different stylistic options for you to choose from, ranging from extra artsy to more traditional pieces. You’ll see everything from vibrant, monochromatic options, to a vintage, sepia toned aesthetic, and even modern-leaning maps looking like they came right out of your road trip.

Map Out More In Your Travel book

Our Maps are a simple, but striking way to share a look at the big picture of your adventure. But they are also a great way to showcase a particularly special chapter. Did a single stop on your trip speak to you in particular? Make a map of a town and flag all the points of interest that helped you fall in love with the destination. Tag the great monuments you saw, the museum you got lost in, or a vineyard where you tasted an unforgettable vintage.

But the best part of Mixbook maps is that they are unique to you and your story. Did you find the perfect place to sit and watch the sunset over the ocean? That special spot might not make it on official maps of that beach. But it can certainly be tagged on your Mixbook Map. Mark that incredible view you saw, the perfect cup of coffee you found, or any of those special somethings that made your travels special.

Map Your Love Story

A beautiful beach. A spectacular mountain trail. A dazzling trip through an unknown corner of the world. Love stories are some of the most spectacular ones we share. And a great map can be a gorgeous way to share your special tale.

Was there a trip that changed your life? Note all those special-only-to-you places you found with your special someone. Or flag the iconic landmarks that you’ll never forget seeing together. Was that once-in-a-lifetime romantic story more of an adventure? Track the stops you made on your road trip, journey abroad, or backpacking expedition with a map so your love story looks as big on that page as it feels inside.

Make Your Map Now

Where you went is as much of the story as what you saw. Photographs are a great way to fill your photobooks with the specific details of your memories. But creating a map lets you share a bigger look at the journey you took. Our new map tool is live in Mixbook Studio for all users and ready to help you create a personalized map to share a look at whatever course you charted.
